Winston Davis Walton, 91, of Spout Spring, died Friday, September 9, 2022, at his residence.  He was the husband of Glenice Van Cleef Walton for 62 years.

Born in Appomattox County, April 20, 1931, he was a son of the late Nell Davis Walton and Walker Scott Walton.  Winston was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church.  He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Winston was a graduate of Lynchburg College with a major in Business and a minor in English.  He retired from the Central Virginia Training School after teaching adults with special needs for 30 years.  After retirement, he went fulltime pursuing his passion of raising cattle.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jill Harris and husband, Jerry, Roger Walton and wife, Connie, Russel Walton and wife, Jennifer all of Appomattox and Amanda Stoltz and husband, Kurt of Winter Park, CO: one sister, Shirley W. Kerns and husband, Bill of Harrisonburg; six grandchildren, Aaron Harris and fiancé, DeAnn, Jordan Harris, Faith Walton, Josey Walton, Ethan Walton and Sadie Stoltz; nine great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Brooklyn, Madden, Dillynger, Kellyn, Lynden, Caplyn, Ezra and Novalla; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Walker Walton.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Grooms officiating.  A private interment at Liberty Cemetery will be held following the service.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home.
