Winfred Lee Doss

Winfred Lee “Winky” Doss, 87, of Rustburg passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia Driskill Doss for 65 years.

Born on July 19, 1938, in Concord, Va., he was the son of the late Winfred Irvin Doss and Mazie Riley Doss.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Rena D. Trent and husband, Curtis of Rustburg, Robert S. Doss and wife, Jennifer of Walkertown, NC, and Randal L. Doss and wife, Penelope of Concord; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and retired from B&W. Winky was a talented musician with 72 years of experience. He could play many different genres of music, but Bluegrass was his favorite.

A funeral service will be held 2pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Jennifer Vestal Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
