Appomattox: William Carson "Bill" West, 76, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, April 26, 1929, he was a son of the late Fred L. West, Sr. and Reba Seuis West. Bill was a retired structural iron worker for Local #5 in Washington, DC, during his work there he helped build Dulles Airport, FBI Headquarters building in Quantico, RFK Stadium and Woodrow Wilson bridge. He loved to play golf and during his lifetime scored five holes-in-one and was a former member of Falling River County Club.
He is survived by a brother, F. Leon West, Jr. of Appomattox; two sisters, Phyllis Duncan of West Palm Beach, FL and Elizabeth Smith of Roanoke Rapids, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, May 27, at Robinson Funeral Home with burial following in Liberty Cemetery.
