William John Walker, Sr., of Horseshoe Road, Appomattox, died, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born in Little Falls, NJ, April 27, 1945, he was a son of Mildred McKinley Walker Kircher and the late Fredrick Walker. William served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sons, William J. "Bill" Walker, Jr., and wife, Kunnika of Thailand, Robert Walker and wife Jennifer of Greensboro, NC, Jonathan Walker, and James Walker and wife Stacy both of Appomattox; two daughters, Wendy W. Adams and fiancé Shawn Jones of Salsbury, NC, and Kimmi Walker of Toms River, NJ; three brothers, Fred Walker of OK, Michael Walker of NJ, and Rudy Kircher and wife, Sandra of NJ; one sister, Joyce Perna-Walker of NJ; ten grandchildren; and a childhood friend, Michael Papandrea of Farmville.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at his residence.
