William Vincent Strain, Jr., 74, of Village Highway, Concord, died at his residence on Tuesday April 23, 2013. He was the husband of Frances McDonald Strain for 48 years.
Bill was born Robeson County, NC, on October25, 1938 a son of the late Myrtle Harrell and William Vincent Strain, Sr. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, an active member of the Moose Lodge and Marine Corp League and served his country as a veteran of the Marine Corps. He founded Strain Refrigeration in 1975 and was the owner and operator until his death.
In addition to his wife, Frances, he is survived by three children, James D. Strain and wife, Peggy of Forest; Cathy S. Stroud and husband, Graydon of Ft. Worth, TX; and Billy Strain and wife, Lisa of Forest; grandchildren, Lonnie Maines, Kristin Campbell and husband, Sean; James Stroud, Abigail Stroud, Will Strain and Sydney Strain; two brothers and two sisters, Cornelia S. Namm of Chapel Hill, NC; Grady M. Strain and wife, Patricia of Marvin, NC ; David Strain and wife, Dorothy of Bedford; and Elizabeth S. Richi and husband, Paul of Fort Mill, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday April 26, 2013 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Dan Dibble.
The family will receive friends at the residence at any time.
