Obituary

William David "Babes" Smith, 73, of Lukin Road, Pamplin, died Friday November 7, 2014 at the home of his daughter.

Babes was born in Alexandria July 20, 1941 a son of the late Florence Thompson and Chester Smith. He was a commercial painter and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by four children, David John Smith and wife, Pamela of Alexandria; Charlene Marie Cappello of Manassas; William David Cappello and wife, Katherine of Port St. Lucie, FL; and Stephanie Cappello Hensley and husband, Steven of Pamplin; his younger brother, "Junior" Oney; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, Chester "Colonel" Smith, Elizabeth "Puddin" Burrows, and Sandy McClary.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.
