William Raymond "Bill" Houchens, Jr., 65, of Lynchburg, died Friday, June 15, 2018 at his residence.

Born in Petersburg, July 1, 1952, he was a son of Cecil Conner Harvey and the late William Raymond Houchens, Sr. Bill was a member of Grace Hills Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and he was a surveyor. Bill attended Virginia Polytechnic Institution.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Jerry Wayne Houchens and wife Joyce of Villages, FL and their three children, Joe, Phillip and Kie; one step-sister, Patricia Harvey Turner of Sterling; one step-brother, Charles F. P. Crawley, Jr., and wife, Charlotte of Appomattox;

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Dr. William Eston Harvey.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2018 at Grace Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Tyler officiating, with a luncheon to follow in the church fellowship hall. A private family burial will be held at the O'Brien family cemetery.
