William "Pete" Raymond Bryant, 77, of Appomattox, died Friday, April 29, 2016 in Elizabeth Adam Crump Manor, Glen Allen, Va.
Born in Buckingham, Va., on December 9, 1938, he was a son of the late Mattie Lorine Stinson and Raymond Matthew Bryant. He was a member of Glory Baptist Church and a logger.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Woody Bryant and was a loving and caring dad to his children, Dianna "Marie" Rogers of Richmond and Danny Ray Bryant and wife, Nancy of Buckingham. He is also survived by four brothers and sisters-in-law, Buck and Lina Bryant of Dillwyn, Buddy and Alice Bryant of Gladstone, Rev. Don and Paula Bryant of South Boston, Michael and Wanda Bryant of Shipman; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Dennis McCormick, Sr. of Gladstone, Evelyn Savage of Wingina, and Linda and Freddie Kraatz of Gladstone; seven grandchildren, including Lindsay Rodrigues and Matt Rogers with whom he shared a close relationship; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Donna Bryant.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2016, at Glory Baptist Church by the Rev. Chris Brooks and the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m.
