William Ashley Pollett
William Ashley Pollett, 80, of Cedar Tree Rd. died Thursday, January 01, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Ann Champion Pollett.
Born in Jefferson County, GA, October 16, 1928, he was a son of the late Charles Gordon Pollett and Mattie Mae Screws Pollett. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a retired Real Estate Broker and a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Pamela Ann Dukes of Appomattox and three grandchildren, Patrick Brian Dukes, Travis Stephen Dukes, and Samantha Rae Dukes of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Gordon Pollett, Jr. and a sister Virginia Brewton.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2009 in Evergreen Cemetery by the Rev. Robert E. Lee and the Rev. Robert Green. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post # 104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard.
