Obituary

William Monroe "Billy" Carrico, 94, of Appomattox, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Leona Wells Carrico.

Born in Grayson County, VA, on December 28, 1919, he was a son of the late Almedia Jones and Lonnie Ellis Carrico. He was a member of Evergreen Methodist Church and owner and operator of Carrico Septic Service. Billy was a World War II Army veteran.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Evelyn "Sissy" Thompson and husband, Walter of Evergreen; two grandchildren, Dana (Robert) Eagle and Dean (Debbie) Thompson; eight great-grandchildren, David, Erin, Lauren, Gabriel, Noah, Jacob, Joshua, and Jayden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Moon, Violet Franklin, and Eva Paulette and two brothers, Walter and Claude Carrico.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Herndon Jeffreys. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and V.F.W. 9855 combined honor guard.
