Obituary
William Lee "Hollywood" Smith, 84, of Forbes Rd, Appomattox, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Gladys Lorene Dixon.
Born in Appomattox Co., June 9, 1924, he was a son of the late Alexandria and Frances Godsey Smith. William Lee retired from Weyerhaeuser Paper Co. and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Grover Lee Smith and his wife, Brenda of Appomattox and three brothers, Lloyd Smith and wife, Joyce of Lynchburg, Melvin Smith and wife, Betty of Ohio, and Elmo Smith of Appomattox.
He was preceded in death by three children, David Smith, Virginia Lee Kress, and Diane Stephens and two brothers, Louis and Howard Smith.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, December 13, 2008, in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Ronnie Rogers.
