William Robert Lawler, 105, of Appomattox, died Thursday, April 23, 2020, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Veronica Neuse Lawler.

Born in Newark, N. J., on September 26, 1914, he was a son of the late Helen Dotty and William Lawler. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran and retired from the New Jersey Highway Department.

He is survived by a daughter, Helen Burlingame and husband, Wayne; two sons, Edward "Ron" Lawler and wife, Carol and Jon Kevin Lawler all of Pamplin; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Lawler.
