William Richard Krantz, 78, of Hummingbird Lane, Spout Spring, died Wednesday at his residence.
Born in Bedford on November 20, 1936, he was a son of the late William Davis and Elsie May Drewery Krantz. Richard was a member of Hebron Baptist Church where he had served as Training Union Director and a Deacon. He was a farmer and had retired from Framatome where he worked as a machinist. Also he was a member of the Appomattox F.F.A. Alumni Association and the Fraternal Order of the Oddfellows.
He is survived by two daughters, Connie Marie K. Gaulden and husband Kenley of Spout Spring and Kimberly Faith K. Adams and husband Michael of Sandston; five grandchildren, Jackie Gaulden, Dani Gaulden, Will Gaulden, Dylan Adams and Beth Adams; one great-grandson, Ethan Jones.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Krantz and three sisters, Lois Garrett, Mary Cooper and Viola Hall Dula.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Hebron Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Walker, Rev. Mitch Luckie and the Rev. Sammy Gunter. A time of visitation and fellowship will immediately follow the service.
