Obituary

William "Willie" E. Hager, 73, of Concord, Virginia (formerly of Hedgesville, West Virginia), died Sunday at his home.

Born August 31 st , 1944 in Ravenswood, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Perry and Velma Hager. He was a 1962 graduate of Martinsburg High School.

He was a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

He served 40 years in the 167 th Air National Guard, was a volunteer paramedic with Bedington Fire Department, a member of the American Hereford Association, and a lifelong farmer. Willie was a man with high morals and strong ethics. As a husband, father and "Pappaw," he believed family was of the utmost importance.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Reid Hager of 49 years; daughter, Deana Hager Collis and husband, Jeff of Winston Salem, North Carolina; son, Travis Reid Hager and wife, Mary of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter, Annette Hager Reeser and husband, Nate of Winston Salem, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Ethan, Ashlyn and Nolan Collis, Reid, Mason, Ava and Eden Hager, and Luke and Sarah Reeser; three sisters, Veldena Chapman and husband, Wayne of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Arlena Tout and husband, the late Sheldon of Little River, South Carolina, Lucille Bennett and husband, Doug of Inwood, West Virginia; and one brother, Richard "Dick" Hager and wife, Nona of Martinsburg, West Virginia. In addition, he leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Perry Deane Hager II.

A memorial mass will be held at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia on Friday, May 11 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
