William Henry (Bill) Goin, 83, of Redfields Road, died Saturday January 3, 2009 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Molly Paris Martin Glover Goin.
Born in Appomattox County on March 26, 1925; he was a son of the late David Harrison and Ada Orange Goin. He was retired from Limitorque with over 20 years service; was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and attended Evergreen Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James Henry Goin and his wife Barbara Ann; 3 daughters, Pamela G. Watson and husband Joe, Dale G. Musick and husband Michael; Janie G. Morgan and husband Mike all of Appomattox, a brother, George Goin and his wife Emma Jean of Madison Heights; a sister, Mary Jane McGann both of Lynchburg; a step-sister, Evelyn Mayberry and her husband Ed of Forest; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; 4 step-sons, Claude I. Martin, Jr. (Sheryl); Donny Ray Martin (Dorothy); Lewis E. Martin (Glenda) and Jeff Martin (Melissa) and a step-daughter, Bernadette M. Hansen (Bobby) and 12 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rachel Ferguson Goin; two sisters, Myrtle Smith, Susie Wright, three brothers, Curtis A., David C. and Robert E. Goin and a grandson, Joey Watson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday January 6 at Robinson Funeral Home by Dr. Chris King, Rev. Johnny Newton and the Rev. Bruce Johnson. Burial will follow in Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00- 8:30 P.M. today (Monday) and at other times at the residence.
