William Dean "Billy" Roope, 87, of Paradise Road, Concord, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at The Carrington. He was the loving husband of Hallie Godsey Roope for 65 years.

Born in Amherst County, Va., on October 21, 1930, he was the son of the late Nannie Brown and William Lawrence Roope. He served in US Navy during the Korean War. Billy was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and owned and operated W. D. Roope Construction from 1972 until 1998.

He is survived by three children and their spouses, David and Susan E. Roope of Spout Spring, Sherri R. and Lewis Paulk of Weatherford, TX, and Troy and Shannon E. Roope of Concord; six grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held 3 pm, Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church by the Rev. Jonathan Falwell and Rev. David Heerspink. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park at 4:30 pm.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 26 ^th from 7 until 8:30 pm and other times at the residence.
