William Jude Darrar, 71, of Wildway Rd., Appomattox, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth Charlotte Darrar.
Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on January 17, 1940, he was a son of the late William T. and Ann Mooney Darrar. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, a US Army Veteran, and retired as a driver for the State of New Jersey.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Cynthia Darrar of Appomattox and James and Irene Darrar of NJ; two daughters and a son-in-law, Darlene and Chris Vancil of NJ and Theresa Darrar of Appomattox; a brother, Robert Darrar; a sister, Maureen Mancino both of NJ; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Darrar.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church by Father Jim Gallagher.
