William Buster ‘Bud’ Crain, 97, of Pamplin, VA, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026, at his home.
Born in Yancey, NC, on October 17, 1928, he was the son of the late Vertie Stockton and McDaniel Crain. Bud served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Moon Crain and her mother and brother, Teresa and Robert Jennings; three daughters, Zandra C. Elder (Frank), Evelyn C. Marshall, Luann C. Hancock (James); a son, Benny Crain all of Pamplin; six grandchildren, Chad Crain, Clara Jo Cunningham (Michael), Lucas Crain, Curtis Hancock, Cory Hancock (Marla), and Abby Crain; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Roy, Earlis, Bill, Fonzie, Lester, and Eleck Crain; two sisters, Lyda Crain and Gustie C. Wilson; and his first wife, Margaret Louise Hamlin Crain.
A funeral will be held at 1 pm, on Sunday, June 28, at Robinson Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Gary Stoots Jr. Burial will follow in Rocks Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.
