Obituary

William Clyde (Bill) Mayberry, 88, of Salem Rd., Spout Spring, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Gracie Kennon Mayberry.
Born in Campbell County, June 18, 1920, he was a son of the late William Dudley Mayberry and Lillie Brooks Mayberry. Bill was a member of Bethel Bible Church, an Army Veteran of World War II, and a retired farmer, woodcutter and employee of Cardinal Chevrolet. He was a member of American Legion Post 16. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mann Mayberry, a brother, Woodrow Wilson Mayberry and a sister, Frances Wilson.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, Earnest P. Mayberry, William R. Mayberry and wife, Katie, Thomas L. Mayberry all of Appomattox and Lester Gene Mayberry and wife, Linda of Spout Spring; a step-son, Clarence Kennon of Spout Spring; a step-daughter, Clara Adkins; a special friend, Linda Chappell both of Rustburg; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Richard Wilson. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
