William Luther Carroll, Jr., 52, of Red House Rd, Appomattox, died Sunday morning, May 31, 2009, at his residence following a brief illness. He was the husband of Maryann Carroll.
Born March 26, 1957, in Buckingham Co., he was the son of the late Christine Wilkerson and William Luther Carroll, Sr. He was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church and a product engineer with Thomasville Furniture.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Larry Ferguson; two grandchildren, Travis and Eric Ferguson all of Appomattox; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Acie Branch and Violet (Dean) and Clarence Catlett, all of Buckingham; a nieces, Rhonda White and husband, Jimmy; two nephews, Timothy Catlett and wife, Dana, and Acie (Pete) Branch, Jr. and wife, Audra; three great nieces, Katheryn Christine (K.C)Branch, Atlee Catlett, and Victoria Wrightand two great nephews, Caleb and Ben Catlett.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Highfill.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark Grooms. Private burial services will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 and other times at the residence.
