Wayne Elliott "Bullet" Paulette, 74, of Sawmill Lane, Evergreen, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Margaret Harler Paulette.
Born in Appomattox County, November 1, 1943, he was a son of the late Eva Carrico and Charlie Harvey Paulette. Wayne was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church and Evergreen Ruritan Club. He retired from Commercial Steel Erection after 17 years of Service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tina Merchant of Spout Spring and Melissa A. Paulette and fiancé Luke Tyree of Madison Heights; one sister, Shirley Ragland Stanley of Evergreen; one brother-in-law, Henry Simmons of Evergreen; six grandchildren, Travis "Pistol" Light, Zacharey "Shotgun" Fleshman (Gary, Jr), Jessica Whitney Jamison (Paul), Cody "Colt" Merchant (Bailey), Jordan "Rifle" Owens, and Landan "BB" Owens; two great-grandsons, Beau Merchant and Chase Shelton; five step children, Thomas Jennings, Teresa Tuck, Greg Harler, Shelly Mangus and Randy Burks; three step grandchildren, Tiffany Campbell (Chris) Devin Burks and Cole Harler; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Jewel May Cottrell Jennings Paulette; two sisters, Louise R. Henderson and Dorothy R. Simmons.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2018 at Evergreen United Methodist Church, with Rev. Marsha Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
