Obituary

Wayne Frank Clark, 86, of Timberline Lane, "Little Portion Farm" otherwise known as "Yankee Hill", Appomattox, died Friday night in Lynchburg General Hospital, on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2014, a special date for Wayne and his wife. He was the husband of Winifred Dorothy Brooder Clark for 65 years.

Wayne was born in Tacoma, Washington April 18, 1927, a son of the late Emma Mae Neubauer and Frank J. Clark. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, American Legion Post #104, and was a retired employee of AIL-Eaton. As a veteran of World War II he served in the US Navy in the South Pacific.

In addition to his wife, Winnie, he is survived by his children, Sharon Morella of Appomattox; Kim Clark of Pompano Beach, FL; Wayne K. Clark of Bay Shore, NY; Denton Clark and Jodi of Philadelphia, PA; Donna Noboa of Wellington, FL; Edward Clark and Noreen of Lynchburg; Mary Beth Giametta and Victor of Patchogue,NY; Matthew Clark and Joanne of Appomattox; Laura Vitale and Bob of Bayport,NY; and Christine Prioletti and Gino of Appomattox; 32 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Goehring of Yelm, WA.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Mae Pullen and a brother, Denton Clark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 17, 2014, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church officiated by the Rev. Jim Gallagher. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M., Monday, until the time of service and other times at the residence.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, P.O. Box 668, Appomattox, VA 24522.
