Warren Dudley Scruggs, 77, of Village Highway, Lynchburg, died at his residence Sunday morning October 19, 2014. He was the husband of Marilyn Guill Scruggs for 57 years.

Warren was born in Appomattox County March 29, 1937 a son of the late Hamner Ferguson and Henry Wilson Scruggs. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, an Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired driver for F.W.C., Inc.

In addition to his wife Marilyn, he is survived by a son, Danny H. Scruggs and wife, Susan of Kernersville, NC; a daughter, Patty Hiner of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Christopher Hiner and wife, Heather; Chad Hiner and wife, Stephanie; and Stephanie Scruggs; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Nancy Burness and her husband, Robert of Fortine, Montana.
He was preceded in death by a brother Phillip Scruggs.

Funeral service will be held 3 PM Wednesday October 22, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. David Heerspink. Burial will follow in Liberty Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
