Warren Hayden Moore, 74, of Coleman's Mill Road, Gladstone, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Paula Thompson Moore for 45 years.
Born in Appomattox County, on October 27, 1939, he was a son of the late Maggie Litchford and Charlie Christian Moore. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam, a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #104, and a retired driver for the Lynchburg Oil Company. Warren enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Paula, he is survived by a son, Warren H. Moore, Jr. and wife, Tracey; one grandson, Jeremy Hayden Moore all of Kannapolis, NC; three brothers, Thomas (Bo) Moore of Madison Heights, Floyd Moore and his wife, Mary Jane of Pleasant View, and R. B. Moore of Lynchburg; two sisters, Ivan Harless and husband, Adelee of Lynchburg and Barbara Downey of Christiansburg; sister-in-law, Julia Moore of Madison Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dollene Wooldridge and June Freeman and two brothers, Leslie Moore and Joseph Moore.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 in the Moore Family Cemetery by the Rev. Randolph Martin.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
