Appomattox: Warren Whitson Hatch, 78, of Piney Mountain Rd., passed away Saturday, July 1, 2006 in Lynchburg General Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Brockton, MA, July 21, 1927, he was a son of the late Walter M. and Helen Skaling Hatch. Warren served in the US Navy during WW II, was owner and operator of Warren W. Hatch Excavating and a member of the American Legion Post #104. Warren was a loving father and husband and will be sadly missed.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Alice Carr Hatch; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tom Langston of Hollywood, FL, Susan and Romeo Ouellette of Eustis, FL and Patty and Clifford Icenhower of Morriston, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Susan Hatch, Sr. of Appomattox; a sister, Phyliss Bettencourt of Duxbury, MA; seven grandchildren, Todd, Adam, Jennifer, Shannon, Julie, John Jr., and Amanda and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Almeida.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Kriedel and the Rev. Earnie Lucas. Burial will follow in Herman Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-8:30 pm.
