Warren Garland Crews, 93, of Beckham Road, Concord, died Monday morning May 19, 2014 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Primrose Ella Jay Crews for 69 years.
Warren was born in Appomattox County November 17, 1920 a son of the late Fannie Matthews and Garland Crews. He was a retired farmer and member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Warren was a charter member of Chestnut Mountain Hunt Club and was a veteran of the US Army having served in World War II.
In addition to his wife, Primrose, he is survived by two sons, Paul Crews and wife, Betty of Appomattox, Daniel "Tucker" Crews and wife, Linda of Concord; three daughters, Ann C. Gray and husband, Harry of Forest, Shirley C. Witt and husband, Larry and Mary Crews all of Concord, a sister, Alice Maree Crews Deutsch of Maryland; 4 grandchildren, Vicki Crews, Jeffrey Crews, Tammy Crews Dill and Jessica Crews; 4 great grandchildren, Brett & Lani Dill, Conner & Annabelle McCarver.
Warren was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, David & Patricia Crews, two granddaughters, Dawn Crews & Susan Crews McCarver and three sisters, Elizabeth Young, Hazel Bentjen & Pauline Davis.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday May 21, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Roger Childress. Burial with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard will follow in Rebecca Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
