Warren Carlton Barlow, 86, of Oakleigh Ave., Appomattox, died Monday, January 07, 2008 in Virginia Baptist Hospital.
Born in Appomattox County, July 31, 1921, he was a son of the late Kenneth Vane Barlow and Mattie Pearl Gunter Barlow. Warren was a US Air Force Veteran serving during World War II and a retired machinist. He was a member of Grace Hills Baptist Church, the American Legion Post #104, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Sigmon and husband, Steve, of Summerville, SC; two sisters, Elmina B. Guill and Nina B. Beasley and husband, Grover all of Appomattox; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Edward D. "Pete" Guill and wife, Maxine of Appomattox; devoted friends, Debbie and Joseph Carrivera and Hazel Thomas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Warren C. Barlow, Jr.; a sister, Aldah B. Gordon and a brother, Alfred L. (Fred) Barlow.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2007 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wes Williams. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-8:30 pm and at other times at the home of Nina Beasley.
