Walter Henson (Buddy) Carson, 75, of Stoneville, NC and formerly of Appomattox, VA, died Sunday, February 24, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Nancy Ellen Barnett Carson.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, August 24, 1932, he was the son of the late James Arelious Carson and Shirley Margarite Bryant Carson. Buddy received his BA from Lynchburg College in English and Physical Education and was a retired educator. He also worked for the Appomattox Garment Factory, Moses Motor Company and after his retirement for the Appomattox County Sheriff's Department. He served on the Appomattox Town Council from 1979 -1983, 1988 – 1995, and 2000 – 2004 and was a member of Appomattox Anglican Church.
He is survived by two children, Walter Henson (Kit) Carson, Jr. and his wife, Donna Fulp Carson of Stoneville, NC and Jamie Kay Carson and her husband, Wicky Lee of Chesterfield, VA.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Appomattox, VA, 1:00 pm, Friday, February 29, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm by the Rev. Marina Gopadze.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Cindy Weadon, Kitty Carson and the Hospice nurses of Rockingham County for their care and compassion given Buddy during his illness.
