William Roger Wills, 65, Trent Hatchery Road, Appomattox, died suddenly Sunday evening, April 19, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of June Wright Wills.

Roger was born in Elon, Va., Amherst County, on May 13, 1949, a son of the late Margaret (Peggy) Keith Wills Franklin and William Edward Wills. He was a member of Glory Baptist Church and a long time employee of the Appomattox County School System at Appomattox Middle School.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sisters, Rebecca Sue (Becky) Wills Foster of Rustburg and Penny Marie Martin and Carey of North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Betty Hudson and husband, Jerry, Bonnie Wright all of Appomattox, Ada Mae Hager of West Va., and Frances Schroeder of Fla.; brother-in-law, Ashby Wright and wife, Lois of Appomattox; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Carey Judson (Jack) Franklin; brother-in-law, Walter (Dickie) Wright; and nephew, Jerry Wayne (Butch) Hudson.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Wright Family cemetery officiated by the Rev. Chris Brooks. The family will receive friends at the residence.
