Vivian Nell Kennedy Leite, 99, of Appomattox, died Saturday, September 30, 2023.  She was twice widowed. Her first husband and the father of her children was Ernest Mather Hawkshead, and her second husband was Manuel G. Leite.

Born in Beatrice, AL, July 15, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Ida Eugenia Kearley and Benjamin Franklin Kennedy.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda H. Tahir of Appomattox; one son, Richard Mather Hawkshead and wife, Cindy of Lawrenceville, GA; six grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; and three sisters.
