Virginia (Ginny) Morgan Sharp passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long devastating illness. Ginny was born in West Lafayette, Indiana on August 23, 1912 to Roscoe and Fanny Morgan. She was a telephone operator in her hometown of Watseka, Illinois.
She married Capt. Albert Henry Sharp on January 15, 1944 during World War II in Detroit Michigan. After the war they travelled extensively throughout the world.
Ginny was a great artist, showing this talent after reaching the age of fifty. Her masterpieces hang in her home, and one of a farm scene decorated her room in the nursing home.
Ginny will be remembered for her fun-loving nature, her sense of humor, her bravery, and the love she shared with pets, children, and all living things.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Robinson Funeral Home, 667 Court Street, Appomattox. The Rev. Jeunée Cunningham of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Appomattox, will officiate.
A private committal service will be held at Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM Tuesday night August 18, 2009.
