Virginia Burger Quackenbush, 70, of River Ridge Rd, Appomattox, VA, formerly of Ocean Township, NJ, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond Nelson Quackenbush.
Born in New Jersey, on April 4, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Edna Farrell and George Burger. She worked at Shop Rite Grocery for 35 years and worked with her husband and children at their Red Barn Farm produce stand in Monmouth County, NJ. Virginia was a member Christ Church at Cornerstone Christian Academy of Appomattox and a member of the Appomattox Historical Society.
She is survived by two children; Raymond M. Quackenbush of Howell, NJ, and Christina (Tina) A. Blondek and husband, Christopher (Chris) of Pamplin, VA; two grandchildren, Eric A. Quackenbush and Amanda G. Blondek; a brother, Pete Covert and wife, Lorie of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Nancy S. Nash and husband, Clyde M. of Appomattox and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Christ Church at Cornerstone Christian Academy, 169 Police Tower Road, Appomattox, VA, by Dr. Geoffrey Hubler.
