Virginia Jarrells Mann, 89, of South Church St., Appomattox, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond Edward Mann.
Born in Appomattox County, on November 5, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Bertha Franklin and Elam Overton Jarrells. Virginia was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for 77 years and retired from Amelia Dress Company.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen M. and Doug Seamster, Dorothy M. and Gary Fleshman, and Myrna M. and Robert Doss all of Appomattox; five grandchildren, Sandra Velleca, Cindy Phelps and her husband, Randy Jr., Jenny Lou White, Ty Doss and his wife, Mary Beth, and Jarrett Doss and his wife, Leigh Ann; eight great-grandchildren, Tristan Phelps, Brandon White, Chris Mayberry, Heather McCormick, Rachel McCormick, Anna Doss, Madison Doss, and Kinsley Doss; two great-great grandchildren, Braydene King and Devin Mayberry; three nephews, Wayne, Maxie, and Mike Jarrells and a special friend, Helen Franklin.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Kogel, Julia Carey, and Annie Wright and four brothers, Floyd, Wesley, Harry Jarrells, and Thomas Ferguson.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Hospice of Virginia and the Appomattox Health and Rehab nurses and staff for their care of Virginia.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2011, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Daniel Dockery and the Rev. Tommy Bryant. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, November 27, from 3-5:00 p.m. and other times at the home of Robert and Myrna Doss, 1498 Salem Rd., Spout Spring.
