Virginia Harvey Hunter, 80, of Spring Mill Road, Concord, died Thursday night July 14, 2011 at the Medical Care Center. She was the widow of Howlett Bailey Hunter.

Virginia was born in Campbell County on November 13, 1930 a daughter of the late Nellie Franklin and William Hunter Harvey, Jr. She was a retired employee of Central Virginia Training Center and a member of New Concord Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her children, William Edward Hunter and his wife Theresa of Lynchburg; Howlett Benjamin Hunter and his wife Paula of Concord; Linda Hunter Daye and her husband Barry of Gladys, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Luther Hunter and a brother, John Hunter Harvey, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday July 18, 2011 at New Concord Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Emily Larsen officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church one prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
