Obituary

Virginia Franklin Hancock, 74, of Morning Star Road, Appomattox, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at her residence. She was the wife of James C. Hancock.

Born in Prince Edward County, on March 23, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Gladys Lowe and Harry Franklin, Sr. She was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Terri H. Willis and husband, Tim of Appomattox; four grandchildren, Ashley Coleman and husband, Ryan, Blake O'Brien, Tyler Willis, and Trevor Willis; two great grandchildren, Kenleigh and Trafton Coleman; two sisters, Mae Wooten and Teressa Wells both of Appomattox; a brother, Harry Franklin, Jr. and wife, Faye of Spout Spring; and a sister-in-law, Stella Carter and husband, Ralph of Appomattox.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kimbra H. O'Brien and Wendy Hancock and a brother-in-law, Ed Wooten.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Herndon Jeffreys. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 pm and other times at the residence.
