Victor Lyle Meadows, 65 of Pamplin died Wednesday February 12, 2014 in the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Victor was born in Lynchburg on January 31, 1949 a son of the late Virginia Williams and Joseph Lyle Meadows. He was a member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church. Victor was a 1967 graduate of Appomattox County High School and a 1971 graduate of James Madison University. He retired from Appomattox County Middle School as a history teacher of 38 years leaving over 4000 students who fought the Civil War in Mr. Meadow's classroom.
He is survived by two sisters, Barbara "Bobbie" Lewis of Warminster, PA; Linda "Susie" King and husband, Alan of Pamplin; nieces and nephews, Jane E. Cary, Johnny Edwards, Janet E. Tuck, Robert J. Lewis, Jr., William B. Lewis, Kimberly L. Burke, James E. Lewis, Jennifer L. King, Roger Guill whom they thought of as a brother, his brother-in-law John M. Edwards, and his devoted canine friend, "Sasha".
He was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi M. Edwards and a brother-in-law, Robert J. Lewis, Sr.
A graveside funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Friday February 21, 2014
in Piney Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Herndon Jeffreys.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Thursday night February 20, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
