Vernon Hall Beasley, 84, of Purdum Mill Rd., Appomattox, died Sunday, June 12, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Ethel Jane Marvin Beasley.
Born in Appomattox County, Va., on August 19, 1931, he was a son of the late Virgie Inge and Grover Palti Beasley, Sr. Vernon was a retired jet engine mechanic with United Airlines and a US Navy veteran.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Thomas Hanlon of Lombard, Ill.; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Benjamin and Phyllis Beasley of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Dorothy B. Hamlett of Hurt, Va.; a sister-in-law, Nina B. Beasley; four grandchildren, Anthony Ariola, Michelle Radloff and husband, Ben, Amy Hanlon, and Thomas Hanlon, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Aiden, Audri, and Jax; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Adam Tyler. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service and other times at the residence.
