Vernelle Almond Reynolds Johnston, 84, formerly of Spout Spring, died Sunday morning, May 6, 2007 in the Lucy Corr Health Center, Chesterfield. Twice widowed, her first husband was the late Harry W. Reynolds and her second husband was the late Charlie F. Johnston.
Born March 5, 1923 in Appomattox Co., she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Brucie Martin Almond. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Vernelle was preceded in death by her brother, George W. Almond.
Surviving her are two nephews and their wives, Barry P. and Corinne Almond, of Midlothian, and G. Keith and Paulette Almond, of Leesburg; four great nephews, Nicholas Almond and Craig Almond, both of Midlothian, and Matthew Almond and Joshua Almond, both of Leesburg, along with numerous cousins and friends.
Rev. James Martin will conduct the funeral services at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 8, 2007, in Salem United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Old Herman Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 at Robinson Funeral Home, Appomattox.
