Venice Hamilton Lucado, 92, of Rt. 3, died July 4, 2005. She was the wife of the late Harry Lucado.
Born in Appomattox County, April 15, 1913, she was a daughter of the late John McDonald and Fannie Burge Moore Hamilton. Venice was a member of Red Oak Baptist church where she taught various Sunday school classes for over 50 years. She retired from Appomattox Garment Factory.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Clinton Wayne and Betty Lucado of Appomattox; a daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Jerry Nash of Lynchburg; a brother and sister-in-law, W. Floyd and Susan Hamilton of S.C.; four grandchildren, Dean Nash and Karen of Gray, Tenn., Gwen Murphy and Jim of Lynchburg, Dwayne Lucado and Debra of Westminster, Maryland, and Bobby Lucado and Michelle of Nelson County and four great grandchildren, Jessica Nash, Raymond Nash, Evelyn Lucado, and Carson Lucado.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Glover and Elva Harris and a brother, Raymond Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Red Oak Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy Bower with burial following in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 7-8:30 pm and at other times at the home of Clinton and Betty Lucado.
