Timothy Wayne Farrar, Sr. 66, of Walton Drive, Appomattox, died Monday, April 8, 2019, at his residence. He was the husband of Kathy Rhoden Farrar.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., on August 11, 1952, he was the oldest of 11 children to the late June Barton and Gus Julian Farrar. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Vietnam War. Tim started police service with the MacClenny Police Department in Florida. Upon returning to Virginia he went to work for the Amherst County Sheriff's Department from 1988 to 2000 when he joined the Appomattox County Sheriff's Department where he worked until his retirement in 2018.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Timothy Wayne Farrar, II and wife, Pam of Forest and Joshua Michael Farrar of Appomattox; a granddaughter, Evelyn June Rose Gulden; brothers and sisters, Terrence Farrar, Alexis White (Frank), Pamela Farrar, Dawn Farrar (Mike), Leslie Carwile (Derrick), Tracy Farrar (Mark), Troy Farrar, and Joel Farrar (Betsy); a sister-in-law, Kathie Farrar, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Quentin Farrar and a sister, Stephanie Farrar.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2019 at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. John Muth officiating.
