Thomas Ryland Womack, 80, of Pamplin Road, Pamplin died Saturday, January 7, 2017, in Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Maybelle Sanders Womack for 60 years.
Born in Campbell County, Va., on May 24, 1936, he was a son of the late Eugena Hodges and James C. Womack, Sr. He was a member and elder of Beale Memorial Presbyterian Church and attended Spout Spring Baptist. Ryland was a US Army Veteran, a charter member of the Pamplin Wrecking Crew Golf Association, a member of the Pamplin Ruritan Club for over 46 years, and coordinated numerous bus trips for friends and family. He was the owner and operator of Farmville Vending and Appomattox Vending.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jerry Womack and wife, Lisa of Lynchburg; a daughter, Tammy Coleman and husband, Dennis of Janesville, WI.; a sister, Jean Carrico of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Jessica Womack, Dustin Womack and wife, Tabatha all of Lynchburg, and Christy Coleman of Janesville, WI.; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Womack and Dylan Temple; a sister-in-law, Nedra Womack; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, James C. Womack, Jr., Malcolm J. Womack, and Benjamin K .Womack and a sister, Christine W. Orange.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017, in Evergreen Baptist Church by Pastor Paul Kvasnicka and the Rev. Marina Gopadze. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
