Appomattox: Thomas Christian Watson, 82, of 413 South Church St., died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at his residence. He was the husband of Erma Louise Martin Watson.
Born in Buckingham County, June 6, 1923, he was a son of the late John Raleigh and Bertha Wright Watson. Mr. Watson was an US Navy Veteran and served his country proudly during WWII.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, Joel Thomas "Butch" Watson of Scottsboro, AL, Darrell Christian Watson, Stewart Ashley Watson and wife, Cindy, and Marshall Allen Watson all of Appomattox; a sister, Ora W. Glover of Forest; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Watson and a sister, Jesse Robertson.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Old Herman Cemetery by Jonathan Watson.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today(Tuesday) from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the residence.
