Thomas Utz

Thomas Utz, 83, loving husband of the late Patricia Ann Condon Utz, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at his home.

Thomas was born on October 9, 1943, in Manhattan, NY, to the late Catherine Mary McGinness and Paul Allen Utz. Thomas proudly served the United States of America as a Master Chief in the U.S. Navy for many years before retiring and working as a Tech Representative with Civil Service. He volunteered at the J. Robert Jamerson Library as well as the Voters Registration Office. Thomas was an avid reader who especially enjoyed reading and studying the Civil War.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary E. Wise and husband, Charles of Mohawk, TN; three siblings, Barbara Zimmerman of Stewartstown, PA, Edward Utz of Chesapeake, VA, Catherine Utz of Kunkletown, PA; two grandsons, Thomas C. “T.C.” Wise of Jeffersonville, IN, and Christopher A. Wise of Mohawk, TN; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Wise of Appomattox, VA.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one son, John Paul Utz.

A private family inurnment will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery for Patricia and Thomas Utz.
