THOMAS W. OLIVER
Appomattox – Thomas Wallace "T.W." Oliver, 63, of 400 Skyline Road, died Saturday afternoon April 14, 2007 at Virginia Baptist Hospital following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Gayle Power Oliver.
Thomas was born in Farmville on September 25, 1943 a son of the late Otto McRoy Oliver and Bessie Mann Oliver. He served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Navy; held an Associate degree in Engineering from Danville Community College and was a Supervisor for Grief Brothers, Inc. at Riverville.
In addition to his wife Gayle, he is survived by his children, Brian Thomas Oliver and his wife, Tina of Concord and Melissa Karole Oliver Mills and her husband, Travis of Appomattox; five grandchildren, Max Oliver, Daniel Oliver, Keyla Jones, Travis Mills, Jr., and Jake Oliver; a brother, R. E. Oliver of Farmville; 4 Sisters, Ruth Hudson of Staunton; Margaret Wilson of Farmville; Frances Easter of Charlottesville; Mildred Robertson of Waynesboro.
The family is grateful for the care and concern shown by Dr. Dwight Oldham and staff at Lynchburg Hematology-Oncology.
It was T. W.'s wish that a funeral service not be held, however, a visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday night April 17, 2007 from 7-8:30 P.M. at Robinson Funeral Home, 667 Court Street, Appomattox, Va.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Appomattox Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 57, Appomattox, VA 24522.
