Obituary

Thomas Edward Moore, 82, of Lucy Street, Appomattox, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at his residence. He was the husband of Betty Robertson Moore.

Born in Appomattox County, Va., on July 12, 1932, he was a son of the late Estelle Doss and Thomas K. Moore. He was a member of Mount Comfort United Methodist Church, a farmer, and founder of the Black Rock Hunt Club where he was a long-time president of the club.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, T. E. and Pat Moore, Al and Janet Moore, and Darrell and Nita Moore; a daughter, Tina Dunnam and Mike Knight all of Appomattox; four grandchildren, Sheila Kay Roper and husband, Adam, Tiffany Phelps and husband, Dane, Adam Moore, and Jordan Moore; three great-grandchildren, Clay Mann, Raylee Roper, and Farrah Phelps; four step-grandchildren, Heather Cheatham, Felicia Mann, Mary Beth Nash, and Julie Overman; two brothers, Palmer Moore of Richmond and James Moore and wife, Louise of Appomattox; a sister, Peggy Wood and husband, Herbert of Madison Heights; and his special companion, Toot.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, L. C. Moore and Hunter Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Childress and the Rev. Larry Mann. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
