Thomas Edward Harvey, 89, of Chesterfield, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in Chippenham Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis LeGrand Harvey.
Born in Evergreen, Va., on June 19, 1928, he was a son of the late Eleanor Ferguson and Royal Penick Harvey. He was a founding member of God's Store House Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a member of the choir. Thomas was a US Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired from Western Electric and following his retirement he worked for AT & T and several small phone companies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Thomas R. Harvey and Linda H. Brown and husband, Roger, all of Chesterfield; three grandchildren, Melanie L. B. Himes and her husband, Russell, Edward R. Harvey, and Daniel J. Harvey; a sister, Irma H. Jenkins and her husband, Latane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel P. Harvey and a sister, Shirley H. Martin.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home by Dr. Tom Lovorn. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post #16.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
