Obituary

Thomas Franklin "Buddy" Fitch, 83, of Fitch Haven Drive, Concord, died, Saturday, November 8, 2014 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Agnes Martin Fitch.

Born in Campbell County, August 16, 1931 he was a son of the late Nellie Hale and Fred G Fitch, Sr. Buddy was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church and was a former supervisor for the Craddock-Terry Shoe Corp. He served his country during the Korean War as Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Brenda F. Coleman (Ronnie) of Lynchburg, Joan Burton (Robbie) of Scottsburg and Tammy Williamson (Rodney) of Bullock, NC; three brothers, Harold W. Fitch (Margaret) of Lynchburg, Don L. Fitch (Ester) of Powhatan and Doug N. Fitch Sr., (Virginia) of Concord; two sisters, Norma Jean F. Booth (George) of Lynchburg and Ann F. Carwile (James) of Concord; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Elmo Conner, Jr.; two brothers, Fred G. Fitch Jr., and William G. Fitch.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2014 at New Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Powell officiating.

Burial will follow at the Fitch Family Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 104 and VFW 9855 combined honor guard.
