Thomas David Bohannon, Sr., 70, of Horseshoe Rd., Appomattox, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Eva McCormick Bohannon.
Born in Appomattox County, December, 17, 1937, he was a son of the late Aulus Abbitt and Mary Eagle Bohannon. Thomas was a life member of Memorial United Methodist Church, where he had served as custodian for close to 22 years. He retired from the Lynchburg Foundry, after 35 years as a machine operator.
He is survived by two children, T. David Bohannon, Jr., and his wife Vickie, of Homer, NY. and Tina Marie Bohannon; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Bonnie Bohannon, of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Rindy and Eric Bohannon of NY; two nephews, James Bohannon, Jr., and his wife, Wanda of Appomattox, and Mike Bohannon, and his wife, Jennifer of Concord; four great-nephews, Tyler and Christopher of Appomattox, and Jacob and Gabriel of Concord.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 21, 2008 in Memorial United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Bruce Johnson. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today (Saturday) from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and other times at the residence.
