Theresia Bowden went home on July 10, 2016. Born in Germany in 1912, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Bowden, her first born, Jeanette and her twelve siblings. She is survived by her three children, Constance Tate, Melvin Bowden and wife, Judy and Deborah Rakes and husband, Larry; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Since her conversion to Christ at age 35, pleasing God was her first priority; being a good wife, mother and homemaker completed her world. Those who really knew her loved her. She was a woman of great personal and physical strength, solid in her faith.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Appomattox Assembly of God, 1225 Confederate Blvd. with Rev. Rodney Blank and Rev. Jim Booth officiating. Burial will be held 3 p.m. in Signal Hill Memorial Park in Hanover Courthouse, VA with Rev. Rick Dill officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
