Thelma Lee Franklin, 90, of Prospect Road, Prospect, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at her residence.
Born in Appomattox County, November 20, 1919, she was a daughter of the late William Harrison Franklin and Virginia Ellen Franklin Franklin. Thelma was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, a former employee of Thomasville Furniture and Kil Kare Laundry of Farmville.
She is survived by a sister, Emma Patterson, of Prospect; nieces and nephews, Virginia Franklin, Nannie Virginia Nelson, Janet Keith, Jackie Hodge, Lawrence Franklin, Clarence Franklin, and Elton Franklin; and special friends and caregivers, Brenda (Suki) Smith and Desiree Hoffman.
Thelma was preceded in death by six brothers, Robert, Otis, Jesse, Lloyd, Calvin, and Ed Franklin; two sisters, Margie Franklin and Louise Goin; and two nephews, Russell Franklin and William Goin.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, in Evergreen Cemetery by the Rev. John Flood.
